Symptoms:

Early symptoms (within 24 hours):
1. Some sort of skin opening or minor trauma has happened
2. Has some pain in general area where trauma occurred
3. Pain is not usually typical for the type of injury, it may feel like a pulled muscle and will become more and more painful
4. Flu like symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, fever, confusion, dizziness, weakness, and general malaise may start to appear
5. Will become very thirsty as body becomes dehydrated
6. The biggest symptom would be all of the above combined (1)

Advanced symptoms (usually within 3-4 days):
1. The limb or area of the body where you are feeling pain will begin to swell and may show a purplish rash
2. The limb may begin to have large, dark marks, that will become blisters filled with blackish fluid (1)
3. The wound may actually begin to appear necrotic with a bluish, white, or dark, mottled, flaky appearance (1)

Critical symptoms (usually within 4-5 days):
1. Blood pressure will drop drastically
2. The toxins the bacteria are giving off will cause the body to go
into shock
3. As the body becomes too weak to fight off this infection it will cause unconsciousness
